Big simultaneous exhibit openings to take place in Havana

Havana. - Numerous art galleries in the Cuban capital city are arranging the final details to host the simultaneous opening of exhibits included in Habanarte Festival program from next September 4.

As part of this event which aims at bringing together different artistic expressions into one great event, visual arts will be a sort of a continuity of the 2015 Havana Biennial, as reported by Nadia Naranjo, director of Cultural Industries.

The sequence of inaugurations in one day will cover art galleries, institution rooms, and personal workshops as well, she explained.

Post it is one of the most ambitious projects with a work sample of 48 artists from all over the country—in total, 166 artists submitted their works.

Painting, sculpture, photography, installations and engravings make up this exposale of Cuban contemporary art in its third edition, according to reports by Director of the Collage Habana National Visual Arts Center, Maria Milián.

Galiano, Collage Habana, Arte Facto and Artis 718 exhibition rooms are participating in this initiative that will be repeated every two years, while the awards of this edition will be published on October 30.

In the meantime, La Acacia art gallery will show works of its collection but through three-dimensional technology. Thus, a volumetric representation of its flat pieces may be also seen.

More than 700 cultural activities, distributed in some 70 venues, will be hosted Habanarte Festival, from September 3 to 13, thanks to a programming including all the artistic expressionss, according to what its organizers have declared.

Under the motto All arts at once, the project aimed at giving opportunity to foreigners of knowing the arts of the local culture; although its offers also take into account the national audience, stressed Vice-Deputy of Cuban Culture, Fernando Rojas.

Paradiso Tourism Cultural Agency promotes this event in other nations, and the participation of over 300 foreigners interested in this proposal, has been confirmed.
