Homage to Alicia Alonso, legend of universal dance

Alicia Alonso maestro de generaciones is the title of the gala directed by Alberto Mendez that Cuba’s National Ballet will offer to its general director in her 95 birthday in Avellaneda Room from Teatro Nacional, next Sunday, December 20 at 8.30pm.

The audience will be able to celebrate such important event with highlights in the career of the prima ballerina assoluta, one of the most important figures in the history of world dance including scenes from Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, La fille mal gardée and Carmen, performed by Anette Delgado, Sadaise Arencibia, Estheysis Menéndez, Jessie Domínguez, Dani Hernández, Víctor Estévez, and soloists and the corps de ballet. The music will be in charge of the Symphony Orchestra from Alicia Alonso Grand Theater of Havana, directed by Giovanni Duarte.

Alicia Alonso, maestro de generaciones does not want to be a biographic reconstruction, but to recall some of the most significant moments of the Cuban dancer, one of the most important dancers in the world dance.
