Walk on the Wild Side

Walk on the Wild Side

Offering an outstanding introduction to a collection comprised of over 250 works by major 20th and 21st century artists, Walk on the Wild Side is a reference book that anticipates the opening of the Porquerolles (France) site of the Fondation Carmignac in the spring of 2018.

Originally centered around works by Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, the Carmignac collection has evolved with the tastes of its founder, Édouard Carmignac. Today it includes works by leading contemporary artists such as Miquel Barceló, Andreas Gursky, Maurizio Cattelan, Zhang Huan, and Korakrit Arunanondchai.

Walk on the Wild Side unites the talents of renowned authors, critics, philosophers, curators, and film directors. Nicolas Bourriaud, David Cronenberg, Luc Ferry, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Catherine Millet, and Camille Morineau trace the history and illuminate the particular philosophy of a collection whose primary goal remains the sharing of aesthetic pleasure—originally with employees of the Carmignac Group, and now, with the broader public.
