Video art, protagonist of the Art Madrid Parallel Program

Between 11 and 23 February, the Art Madrid fair and the PROJECTOR festival will organize an extensive program of cultural and educational activities dedicated to contemporary video art, which can be enjoyed in the spaces of CaixaForum Madrid and Sala Alcalá 31.

By dedicating its traditional Paralelo Program to one of the most popular means of artistic expression today, the Madrid art fair becomes a platform for new trends in audiovisual art, especially those in the Spanish panorama.

"We are facing a moment of expansion and growth of these forms of creation and, in fact, video creation is one of the increasingly recurrent media among contemporary authors. The program wants to welcome new projects around this discipline and contribute to their knowledge and value, while reflecting on the ephemeral nature of this type of work and the circumstances surrounding the collection of video art ", say its organizers in their press release.

The wide range of activities, including cycles of screenings, talks, lectures and meetings with artists, has the collaboration of Obra Social "La Caixa" and the Community of Madrid, in addition to the support of Cervezas La Virgen, One Shot Hotels and the Culture and Sports Area of the Madrid City Council.

In it, the curator Mario Gutiérrez Cru (director of the pioneer Festival PROJECTOR) will bring together great creators, collectors and current professionals such as Teresa Sapey, Rogelio López Cuenca, Elena Córdoba, Eugenio Ampudia, Mateo Maté or the Democracia collective.
