Last Sunday, the 12th edition of Pinta Lima, the only contemporary art fair in Peru, successfully concluded with a high turnout and sales, establishing itself as a key reference in the Latin American art circuit and a meeting point for the region. Thanks to the support of Global Lead Partner EFG Wealth Management, the fair, held at Casa Prado in Miraflores, brought together 43 galleries from 15 cities, artists, curators, and collectors, welcoming more than 18,000 visitors, including over 60 international guests, offering a unique platform for dialogue and reflection on the region’s artistic production.
A curatorial program with a regional vision
Irene Gelfman conducted the Global Curatorship and formed a curatorial team of leading Latin American figures. The program, increasingly consolidated with a more defined vision, included three sections: Main Section, RADAR (curated by Florencia Portocarrero), and NEXT (curated by Emiliano Valdés). Additionally, Video Project (curated by Irene Gelfman), the Special Project curated by Giuliana Vidarte, and a well-deserved tribute to Peruvian artist Teresa Burga (1935-2021), curated by Miguel A. López, recognizing her legacy as a pioneer of conceptual and multimedia art, were included.
The Pinta Lima FORO 2025 gathered 26 speakers in a notable selection of voices in contemporary art, discussing the challenges and opportunities in the contemporary art field in Latin America. From Spain, Manuel Segade, current Director of the Museo Reina Sofía, and María Sancho-Arroyo participated. From the United States, Pablo León de la Barra, curator at the Guggenheim Museum specializing in Latin American art, joined, and from the United Kingdom, renowned collector and art historian Catherine Petitgas provided a global view of collecting. Key figures from the regional context, such as curators Emiliano Valdés (Guatemala), and local Peruvian artists and thinkers like Sharon Lerner, José Carlos Mariátegui, Yvonne von Mollendorff, Manongo Mujica, and Alberto Rebaza, as well as critic and researcher Jorge Villacorta, alongside young voices such as Celeste Valero (Argentina) and Sofía Véliz (Guatemala), were also present. This diversity of perspectives made the forum a key space for rethinking the present and future of the Latin American art ecosystem.
Awards and Sales
Pinta Lima highlighted several awards showing support for artistic practice and the promotion of collecting, solidifying the fair as an essential meeting point for the international art community. The 15th edition of the EFG Latin America Art Award recognized Ishmael Randall-Weeks' work, a sculpture blending Peruvian elements with contemporary techniques. The AFP Integra Award for Best NEXT Stand went to Argentine gallery Linse Galería for its innovative proposal in its first international participation. Additionally, the RADAR Award, sponsored by Bottega Dasso, recognized the stand of Peruvian gallery Paseolab. Furthermore, Pinta Lima and Euro Motors S.A., the official representative of Audi in Peru, announced the first edition of the Audi / Pinta Lima Visual Arts Competition 2025. This competition aimed to foster national artistic production and give visibility to new creative proposals in the field of visual arts.
During the 2025 edition of Pinta Lima, commercial results were exceptional, driven by a high volume of transactions and an active sales dynamic. The flow of operations was steady throughout the fair’s days, accelerating toward the closure and achieving significant sales, validating the sustained interest from collectors, institutional buyers, and new buyers.
