Maria Jose Jove Foundation Announces 6th ARTEJOVE-N International Biennale Award

Maria Jose Jove Foundation announces the 6th -ARTEJOVE-N International Art Biennale Award in an effort to foster the art spreading and promote young artists. It’s an international event, provided with 12,000 euros, plus an additional fund of 15,000 euros to acquire high-quality artworks. Beside the cash prize, the winning work will join Maria Jose Jove Foundation Art Collection and its author will be invited to make up the jury of the next edition.

 

The 6th Maria Jose Jove Foundation -ARTEJOVE-N International Art Biennale Award targets artists younger than 35 years. Maria Jose Jove Foundation bets on extending the prize to the international scene in a bid to recognize young talents from every corner of Earth, the cash prize is the same. Every artist can present up to two original works in the following disciplines: painting, sculpture, photography, installation and new disciplines. The authors willing to participate are to send the works via on-line through March 13. To do so, they only have to fill up the registration form on Maria Jose Jove Foundation’s website and attach a picture of the work in jpg format.

 

The jury will handpick those works that must be physically sent and the winner will be among those pieces. The jury is also going to choose fifteen pieces that will be included in a catalogue and a display at Maria Jose Jove Foundation, to be opened when the jury is set to announce the decision: May 15. 

 

The jury to the 6th Maria Jose Jove Foundation -ARTEJOVE-N International Art Biennale Award, headed by Felipa Jove Santos, is made up of acclaimed figures from the world of arts, such as photographer Manuel Vilariño; Juan de Nieves, art critic and free-lance curator; Bea Espejo, art critic and the person in charge of the art section in El Cultural; Ruben Ramos Balsa, winner of the 5th Maria Jose Jove Foundation Fine Arts Award, as well as Marta Garcia-Fajardo, director of Maria Jose Jove Foundation Art Collection.

The five previous editions delivered prizes to Madrid-based artist Jose Maria de la Rubia Tejeda, who presented “Pili, Mili, memories of the 20th century” (2006); Asturian Fruela Alonso Blanco with “City 3rd. Pripiat” (2007); Colombian Gloria Herazo, awarded in the 2008 edition for “Porcelain”, a technique of acrylic on canvas; Vicente Blanco in 2010, with his collage titled “Contract for landscape”, made of ink and paper on cardboard, and Ruben Ramos Balsa with “Structure of chair with hypercube and river with triangle”.
