Four Brazilian galleries and two Spanish ones to attend the Armory Show 2015

The 17th edition of The Armory Show New York fair to be held from March 5 to 8, which will meet 197 galleries from 28 countries. Some include Brazilian galleries like Luciana Brito (São Paulo) and Nara Roesler (Sao Paulo), which will attend the event once again as well as the Spanish gallery Casado Santapau, within its section industry Pier 94 Contemporary, dedicated to leading international galleries presenting the latest trends of living artists. Meanwhile, Raquel Arnaud (Sao Paulo), Bergamín (São Paulo) and Mayoral Art Gallery (Barcelona), they will also participate at the Pier 92 Modern section, dedicated to art and artists from the 20th century.

 

Late works by outstanding artists such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and Joan Miró, as well as recent works by Antoni Tàpies, Miquel Barceló and Jaume Plensa will be at the Barcelona’s Mayoral gallery.

 

Cecilia de Torres and Leon Tovar New York galleries, specialized in Latin American art will also participate at Pier 92 Modern section.

 

On the other part, some other galleries will attend this event for the first time. Standing out those of Mor Charpentier (Paris and Bogota), Albert Baronian (Brussels), Ben Brown Fine Arts (London and Hong Kong), Carl Freedman (London), Johan König (Berlin), Lelong (New York and Paris), kamel mennour (Paris), Metro Pictures (New York), Monitor (Rome), Regen Projects (Los Angeles), and Michael Schultz (Berlin, Seoul and Beijing), among others.

 

We should also point out the return of important galleries like James Cohan Gallery (New York and Shanghai), Massimo De Carlo (Milan and London), Sean Kelly (New York), Peter Kilchmann (Zurich), Lehmann Maupin (New York and Hong Kong), Lisson (London, New York and Milan), Victoria Miro (London), Thaddaeus Ropac (Paris and Salzburg), Sies + Hoke (Düsseldorf), Spruth Magers (Berlin, London and Los Angeles, United Sates), and David Zwirner (New York and London).

 

In addition, The Armory Show at the Pier 94 has been carrying out a section dedicated to a geographic region for five editions. For its sixth edition, Egyptian Omar Kholeif, curator of the Whitechapel Gallery in London, will be in charge of the guardianship of Armory Focus: Middle East, North Africa and the Mediterranean (MENAM), organized in collaboration with the Edge of Arabia and Art Jameel institutions. Finally, the fair will include Armony Presents, a section dedicated to personal or dual presentations per galleries with less than ten years of experience.
