International Young Artists Participate in Cuba's Romerias De Mayo

Holguin.- The 12th edition of the Romerias de Mayo festivities starts today in Holguin, with the goal to found the Artistic Youth World Festival and the presence of 26 countries from America, Asia, Africa, Europe and Australia.

Musicians, artists, researchers, dancers, writers, painters and cultural promoters visit The City of Parks, 770 km from Havana, to attend the traditional celebrations.

From May 2nd to 8th, Holguin will host concerts, performances, exhibitions, workshops, public dances and sociocultural reflection sessions at the Interactive Social Forum Cuba Approaching the World.

Nicaragua is the Artistic Youth World Festival's guest of honor. The Festival will be a space to reflect on the universality of regional cultures, founding fathers, the interrelation between arts and generations, and experimental activities.

More than 500 Cuban and foreign delegates and guests will exchange experiences and discuss the need to provide a more accurate outlook of how people live and think not only in capital cities, but also those who create art in the most diverse regions.

The Romerias de Mayo festivities, organized by the Hermanos Saiz Association and themed "Because there is no today without yesterday", have become a world meeting in order to maintain tradition from the present day.
