Second Week of Biennial of Visual Arts Begins in Havana

Havana.- The 12 Havana Biennial began its second week, with the same interest from people that go out into the streets and enjoy different art expressions.

The works went out from their traditional exhibition sites, like museums and galleries, to settle in corners, buildings, sidewalks and streets, and make art something tangible and of social impact.

Particularly, the Malecon in Havana is much more visited thanks to the project "Detras del Muro" (Behind the Seafront Walkway), which has placed various artistic works from La Punta until the ice rink next to the Maceo Park.

Roberto Fabelo, a legend of contemporary visual arts in Cuba, placed there his sculpture Delicatessen, and opened the exhibition Persistencia, at the art gallery Artis 718.

Meanwhile, the Cuban artist Isis de Lazaro shares her studio with other local peers and artists from Spain and Argentina to offer various perspectives on the Havana's Malecon.

Cuban artists Jobana Martinez, Flor de Paz de Lazaro and Gizeh Rangel de Lazaro included their works in this project located at the Estudio Espacio Minimo, in Vedado.

Their works are accompanied by the ones made by Argentinian Beatriz Gerenstein and Spanish Angeles Saura, Pilar Manuela Soto, Olga Sanchez and Montserrat Ansotegui, who expressed their happiness for participating in the Biennial.
