Francophone culture continues to be celebrated in Cuba

The activities for the International Week of the French Language and Francophone culture continues in Cuba with screenings, exhibits and concerts in the Cuban capital city.

 

One of the main attractions is the cinema festival at Havana’s Casa Victor Hugo that from Wednesday is screening films, including Paris, by filmmaker Cédric Klapisch (France) and The Seventh Seal, by Ingmar Bergman (Sweden).

 

The Napoleonic Museum will open this Friday the exhibit La condicion humana de un lider, a 15-work exhibit with the image of Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821), made by French, German and English artists from the 19th century.

 

On this same day, the Canadian choir Shallaway Newfoundland and Labrador Youth Chorus will make a recital at Teatro America, while on March 24, the French singer Richar Pellán will perform at La vida en rosa gathering in Casa Victor Hugo.

 

During this celebration of francophone culture will take place the 19th Terry Fox Run:Marathon of Hope, with starts and ends in front of Havana’s Capitol.

 

Conferences, arts exhibits, workshops, concerts and audiovisual screenings are part of this week in Cuba that will last until the end of this month.
