A Warp Temple

Dressed in the finery of tradition with this new naming, Trinidad is registered as the fifth city in Latin America to deserve the title of Ciudad Artesanal del Mundo, preceded by three in Chile and one in Uruguay , according to what Mercy Correa, vice president of the World Handicrafts Council for Latin America explained to local media.

Although the naming covers all the evolution of manual labor in this town and its preservation, it is needlework what legitimizes the entertainment granted by the World Handicrafts Council (WCC), founded in New York in the sixties of the last century.

Beyond constituting a legacy of generations, needlework is a source of income for Trinidad homes. Artisans make up a kind of an army of knitting needles, willing to demonstrate that intangible legacy and economic sustainability can go hand in hand.
