Digital Art & Culture in the Canary Islands

The 14th edition of the International Fair of Digital Arts and Culture will be held in the Canary Islands, in late November, and it’s considered a benchmark event within the Spanish and international art context related to cutting-edge digital creations.

Its new director, the movie maker Elio Quiroga, has said that he is presently working against the clock in order to guarantee the quality of the event. Likewise, he announced the contest section remains the same, and that’s one of the main attractions in the festival, including three categories this time: Videocreation, Experimental or creation documental and 2D or 3D Animation.

The contest is conceived for author from everywhere, with special awards for authors from the Canary Islands. Audiovisual works can’t exceed 35 minutes and must be presented in Spanish and English languages, or subtitled in those languages. Works will be received up to November 10, 2010. The list of accepted works will be displayed in the Festival’s official website. Several awards will be given in different categories –even a public prize according to online voting– which include a significant cash prize for authors.

As first step, it’s required the registration of authors and works through the following link http://www.canariasmediafest.org/”http://www.canariasmediafest2010.eu
