Advances of Artesantander 2020

The 29th edition of Artesantander will continue with the format established for a decade, Solo Projects, which has meant its consolidation as a different fair. A profile that aims to contribute to value artistic proposals, and, as a fair structured from galleries, to focus on the artist. Also, take advantage of the inertia that will be generated again by the course organized by the 9915 Collectors Association, and the Institute of Contemporary Art, included in the 2020 Program of the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP), which with the attractive title "Transmitters or Receivers? Spain in the international sphere of Contemporary Art. Steps towards consolidation. ", will take place coinciding with Artesantander at the Palacio de la Magdalena de Santander, headquarters of the UIMP.

The Selection Committee is renewed, since in addition to four of the five participants of 2019: Beatriz Espejo (art critic and graduate in History of Art from the University of Barcelona and Master in Art Criticism and Communication from the University of Gerona. Head of the Babelia art section of El País); Rafael Ortiz (director of the Art Gallery that bears his name. His career is marked by extensive participation in international fairs), Fer Francés (gallery owner and curator of contemporary art) and Óscar Alonso Molina (art critic and independent curator exhibition); Blanca de la Torre joins, (curator, art critic and part of the advisory committee of Museums such as MUSAC in León, among others). Five different looks to contemplate a plural selection.

Each gallery may submit a single project to be evaluated by the selection committee, whose selection will be based on the artistic quality of the projects to extend an invitation to the chosen galleries that will participate in the 29th edition of Artesantander.
