Italian singer Fiorella Mannoia will participate in the San Remo Music Awards Festival (SRMA), which will have its first edition in Cuba in 2021, her artistic director Jorge Luis Robaina informed on Wednesday.
At a press briefing, the musician and director of the Cuban Karamba group announced that Mannoia confirmed her presence at the event, scheduled for November 16 and 21 this year.
'We are pleased to announce this surprise. It is encouraging news to have the presence of one of the heavyweights in Italian songwriting, who made her debut precisely at the San Remo Festival in 1981,' he said.
He also announced the willingness of experts in several fields and numerous nationalities to participate in the first Ibero-American version of the SRMA and assured that further details will be provided.
According to the event's president on the Italian side, Nicola Convertino, the aim is to achieve a multicultural and comprehensive encounter that brings the presence of Ibero-America 'with professional bets and commercial ambitions.'
