At the opening of the exhibition, Gisela Herrero García, head of the National Design Office, ONDI, BDHabana organizing entity, was pleased to have at the event the presence of specialists from that country, recognized for the richness of its culture and, in particular, of their crafts.

Likewise, she pointed to the collaborations that in the immediate future could be established between both entities, mainly in topics such as training and advice.

For her part Camila Ortega, director of Nicaragua Diseña, explained the purposes of the platform in terms of training and promotion of creativity in that nation; as well as regarding the presentation of local talents in other areas.

In this respect, she said she was satisfied with the participation of ND in the Biennial of a sister country, as Cuba is; and appreciated the support provided for it by the National Design Office.

Gabriela Silva, promoter of the Nicaraguan institution, explained to Arte por Excelencias that this institution groups the categories of fashion, cosmetics, product design, audiovisual and architecture, among others.

"What we are trying to do is encourage that entrepreneur who already has a career so that he can venture, both nationally and internationally. The idea of the school emerged this year from the intention of providing some advice through workshops and courses aimed at polishing their skills", she said.

"We are in a world in which users and buyers are increasingly demanding, so our purpose is to provide a space for boys and girls so that they can present their handmade products at a high level, even with a view to exporting".
