FUSION, a new exhibition of the Venezuelan artist Maria Fernanda Lairet

FUSION is the title of the new exhibition of the Venezuelan artist Maria Fernanda Lairet, that will be opened on Sunday November 16th  at 11:00 am on OKYO Gallery in Las Mercedes, and will remain in display until December 14th .

With a proposal that reflects the emergence of new techniques and visual languages from digital revolution, Maria Fernanda Lairet, in the opinion of historian and curator Eduardo Planchart Licea, summarizes the icons of the economy and culture that tend to the whole, with murals of ethereal frames and conversion of money paper in virtual reality.

This is how this artist from Caracas -who over more than two decades of career has dabbled in graphic design, drawing, photography and painting—presents a selection of pieces where digital photography merges with the management of software, creating a visual language through virtual collage.

In this work, Lairet reviewed money paper of different denominations and nationalities and allows to think about issues of political, economic and social, using digital printing on sheets of plexiglass.

According to Planchart Licea in the curatorial text of the exhibit, "These pieces are built for aesthetic layers through a complex process of experimentation and conceptualization between geometric frames, where the frame disappears to become empty, and transparency creates visual dimensions that lead to a neo-kinetic ".

The visual artist and also a photographer has just received two awards this week. One as the best award winning of the XXI Salon of Visual Arts DYCVENSA Caracas Venezuela and for her original creation Lairet COSMIC will be the official money The Cosmic Conecctions that was chosen to the exhibit Concept Fair to be held in 2014 ArtBasel Miami Florida.
