Garcia Rodero, photographs ‘Con la boca abierta’

'Con la boca abierta' is the first retrospective of the artist themes done in her career. Most of the selected photos are exposed for the first time and have been rescued from a folder that Cristina Garcia Rodero saved for 40 years.

Although she has done work in color, the photographer opts for black and white, which is, to Garcia Rodero an aesthetic and ethical choice.

Her work is marked by an incisive and penetrating gaze, which seeks to penetrate the rituals and traditions of humans, where the visual anthropology is part of her artistic legacy.

To delve into this territory, this exhibition has received the Professor of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the UNED, Horacio Maíllo Velasco and Martin Florentino Moreno, professor of Social Psychology at the Complutense University of Madrid, who provide a different and novel insight into the work of this artist who has used photography as a pictorial way of representing today’ world.
