Region 0: Iberian-American Video Art Festival

The deadline for the registration of works at the Region 0 Iberian American Video Art Festival expires on February 21. The event is scheduled for March 24 to 26 in the King Juan Carlos I Center at the University of New York.

 

Iberian-American, Latin American and U.S. artists of Latin origin of all ages can sign up for the event with a maximum of three thematic pieces each.

 

Region 0 is a term widely used in the audiovisual realm in reference to worldwide. So, with this view in mind the festival can be construed as a selection of materials that knock down or go around international barriers.

 

The works –up to 15 minutes each- had to be done after 2005. The selection of the participating videos will be carried out online. Those artists interested in signing up for the festival should send their documentation to info@regionzero.net

 

Organizers are requesting the following mandatory documents: links to the videos for their complete and thorough viewing (youtube, vimeo, the artist’s own website, etc.); the technical info (title, author(s), year of production, length, a brief explicative synopsis of the pieces); two 30 x 30 screenshots of each piece in JPEG format and at 300 dpi, as well as the résumé of the artist or group, plus an email address for further contact.

 

Following the notification and a week from that moment, selected artists should send via the Internet all video files in QuickTime format (.mov), 30fps, 16:9, audio 44.100 KHz, size 720 x 480 pixels.

 

The organization will guarantee the adequate showing of the selected videos
