Contest: ARCOmadrid 2012 VIP Hall Design

Madrid: ARCOmadrid and AD(Architectural Digest España) are summoning for the Design Ideas Contest for the VIP Hall of next year’s edition of the International Contemporary Art Fair, organized by IFEMA and slated for Feb. 15-19, 2012.

Innovation, quality and contemporariness will be the main concepts in this contest. The deadline for delivering project entries will close on Sept. 30.

In this sense, the call is targeting artists, architects and decorators with the ability to create a fleeting space in 2012 ARCOmadrid 2012, combining the fair’s philosophy in terms of serving as a resting area and meeting grounds.

The winning entry will be chosen by an international jury made up of members of the organizing institutions, gallery owners, architects and personalities from the realm of the arts. The winning project will be announced in October and as many as three honorary mentions will be doled out. The winning projects will be exhibited during the fair.

Jurors will vote on both novelty and originality, highlighting those projects that, thanks to a brand or sponsor, could be bankrolled under the budget established for the building of the VIP Hall.

The space will count on information counters and locker rooms, a restaurant seating 150 patrons, a bar for 100 people, a lounge room for 120 guests and a total of four areas designated for the ARCOmadrid sponsors.
