Marking the Excelencias Magazine’s 100th Issue

The Excelencias Group will be holding a weeklong celebration on July 18-21 to mark the launch of the Caribbean Tourist Excellences magazine’s 100th issue.

For this special occasion, the group has organized a very exclusive gala for July 21 at the Garcia Lorca Hall of the Havana Grand Theater.

There will be a performance by the outstanding Cuban National Ballet Company with a presentation of “Precious and the Air”, choreographed by Alicia Alonso and based on the name-like poem by Federico Garcia Lorca. There will also be a performance by Cuba’s National Symphonic Orchestra and of the Sounds of Andalusia musical and dancing group. These musicians recreate the beats of the most traditional celebrations from that Spanish region and are sponsored by the Doña Maria de las Mercedes Foundation, an institution our company recently signed a collaboration agreement with.

In the same breath, there will be cultural and social functions to mark the 30th issue of the Excelencias del Motor, the 20th issue of Excelencias Gourmet and the 10th of Art by Excelencias, featuring an exhibit of classic cars, a gastronomy seminar and an exhibition of contemporary art with an array of Cuban artists from several generations who have been related to the art publication from the very beginning.

Boldface names from Latin America and the Caribbean, tourism ministers, presidents of hotel chains, the diplomatic corps, businesspeople, authorities and personalities from Cuba’s cultural realm will be attending the functions.
