Closer to ARCOMadrid 2012

A jury made up of gallery manager Moises Perez de Albeniz, designer AngelSchlesser; Juan Varez, assistant counselor or Christie's Spain; architect Ignacio Vicens; Montse Cuesta, managing editor of Architectural Digest magazine, and Carlos Urroz, director of ARCOMadrid since its latest edition, reviewed over 80 proposals to handpick the winning project presented by Teresa Sapey Estudio de Arquitectura for the design of the VIP Hall of ARCOMadrid 2012.

 

As it was established in the guidelines, the experts assessed not only the novelties and the originality of the artworks, but also the timely introduction of IKEA as official sponsor, a move that means no extra charge for the fair’s organizers.

 

Teresa Sapey (Cuneo, Italy, 1962) studied architecture at the Polytechnic University of Turin, graduating in 1985, and complete her academic training in Paris with another BFA degree at Parsons School of Design and a Masters in La Villette. In 1990 she moved to Madrid, where she set up his own studio.

 

In addition to the winning designer, three selected projects that grabbed honorable mentions will also be exposed. These recognitions went to Juan Antonio Ceba, Ruben Sales (IDEO comprehensive work) and Zigzag (architecture).ARCOmadrid 2012, organized by IFEMA, will be held Feb. 15-19 next year.
