Factoria Habana Opens

Two exhibitions with a different profile were inaugurated last Friday 24 at Factoria Habana: Rojo Verdoso, by The Merger group and Patria, by Alejandro Campins, both commissioned by Concha Fontenla and coordinated by Sachie Hernandez.

The institution’s first floor showcases artworks created by Alain Pino, Mario Miguel Gonzalez and Niels Moleiro Luis, members of TheMerger collective. Once again, it’s all about large-scale sculptural pieces, inspired by the poetics of pop artist Claes Oldenburg, which tackle social processes from a metaphoric speech.

Exhibition by Alejandro Campins titled Patria. Displayed at the institution’s first floor, the project deals with the Patria concept from the artist’s point of view, that uses the pictorial language, specifically the landscape genre. The creator is interested in exploring nature as a container of infinite information, also using the large scale resource to suggest the feeling of physical presence and space sense of belongingness.
