The Armory Show Kicks Off

One of the main international shows on contemporary and modern art, one of the annual most important artistic events in New York, is carried out every March at piers 92 and 94 in Manhattan.The Armory Showholds its 14th edition with an exclusive list of galleries,the Armory ShowVIPprogram, an opening ceremony at the MoMA, the Foro Abierto program, with acclaimed figures in the world of art, Armory Film and Armory Arts Week, in collaboration with the main cultural institutions in New York.

American Theaster Gates puts on the table a project as part of Armory Focus, along with a proposal commissioned by the prestigious director of Malmö Konsthall, Jacob Fabricius, targeting Nordic countries, which represents a group of galleries from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland, sponsored by Ace Hotel New York. TheArmory Showhas joined the prizewinning architect company Bade Stageberg Cox, based in New York, to redesign spaces, looking for a more pleasant viewer experience.

The Armory Show is the leading show in the US;with pieces dating back from the 20th and 21st centuries in the contemporary section, as well as a space for international distributors specialized in modern art. During its eleven years, the event has become an international institution. Artists, gallery owners, collectors, critics and curators from every corner of Earth always gather in New York in March.

Among the selected galleries: Peter Blum Gallery, Ronald Feldman Fine Arts, Gonzalez & Gonzalez, Ignacio Liprandi Contemporary Art, Marlborough Chelsea, Mendes Wood, Nara RoeslerGallery and Jack Shainman Gallery.
