Alfara Gráfica in Salamanca is summoning for the upcoming edition of engraving courses in July that will engulf a vast array of topics, from traditional to experimental techniques. Stretching July 9-15, the first course will address direct processes, while the second part will tackle engraving and experimental photoengraving on rock (July 16-22).
The first part will pursue the basic objective of experimenting and deepening on traditional engraving techniques, based on traditional direct processes and adding other alternative ones. The following course will deal with the potentials of tracing procedures by introducing a new experience in that field: the application of photoengraving techniques to transfer and engrave an image on rock that had been digitally treated before. In this case, the end result will always be a unique piece with no printing. Participants will count on four matrices (23 x 17 cm rocks) to do their works.
Each course will have a maximum of 15 students and the cost will be 350 euros. It’s important to attach together with the application –at alfaragrafica@gmail.comthru May 30– a detailed résumé since only applying artists, engravers and students with basic knowledge will be admitted.
