Changes in ART MADRID

As an unprecedented strategy to modify the effects of the crisis faced by the market of art, the organizers of Art Madrid have placed their bet on multiplying the event, which is going to be held twice a year, starting on next November. Its eighth edition is going to be held on November 7 - 11, with the attic of Estacion de Chamartinas the new venue.

The galleries are increasingly looking for spaces in this type of events, in order to promote their actions and shed light on their artists in an effort to have access to important groups of collectors or national and international visitors willing to invest in art. Art Madrid responds to these demands with a new event, in a different time of the year that hasn’t been explored in the Spanish circuit.

Of course, the model is to be changed so as to have this option profitable. This time, it’s all about reaching new highs with the quality of proposals in a reduced format, inviting nearly 40 galleries.

The fair is going to present a 2,500 square-meter exhibition space, including VIP Hall. The new space also includes three arched halls, which are ideal for a contemporary art fair. Besides, the location makes visitors flow easier as it turns out to be more accessible.

Art Madrid puts One Project section on the table again, exhibiting solo shows of artists under 40 years old, with the curatorship of Javier Rubio Nomblot. On the other hand, the general program and Young Art get unified, with booths fitting present requirements in terms of costs.

There is a special discount for people interested in participating in this year’s edition and the first one in 2013. Registration for NOV/12 edition is open through September 24 and deadline for FEB/13 is October 30.
