ARCO VIP 2013: Open Call

Project Teresa Sapey+IKEA was the winner of Ideas Contest (VIP Hall Design) during the last edition of this contemporary art fair held in the Spanish capital. The process wasn’t an easy task for the Selection Committee, since it had to meticulously evaluate more than eighty proposals, linked to the space objectives from different points of view.

ARCOmadrid 2013 –scheduled for February 13 - 17– and AD (Architectural Digest Spain), opened on July 26 the call for the 2nd Ideas Contest, following the idea of conceiving an ephemeral space that merges innovation, quality and contemporaneousness to provide a resting and meeting zone during the visit to the Hall. Artists, architects, decorators and other professionals are called to participate. The deadline for documents deliver is October 19, 2012.

Once again, the jury is made up of members of the Organizing Committee to the Fair and AD, as well as celebrities from the world of art: gallerists, artists, architects … Innovation and originality are fundamental elements to be taken into account, but the jury will also pay special attention to those projects with budgets below the top figure established for VIP Hall, thanks to the contribution of any sponsor or brand.

Some of the functionalities to be considered in the design are the information desks, cloakrooms, one restaurant for 150 people, one bar for some 100 people and one Lounge zone for 120, as well as four areas dedicated to the sponsors of ARCOmadrid.
