Art and Antiques Back on Stage

Sunday November 25 is going to be the last day of Madrid’s art and antiques fair. FERIARTE, inaugurated on Friday 16 by the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport, Jose Ignacio Wert, holds this Tuesday 20 its Open Doors Session, free access for all visitors, and the objective is to find generational continuity in terms of collecting.

With 36 years of experience, this fair has strengthened its position as a significant artistic event that gathers the finest Spanish antiquarians and gallery owners, as well as a selection of the most prestigious representatives from the international scene.

2012 edition puts together 18,000 pieces created by over ninety exhibitors, who represent different ages and cultural expressions from all over the world. Furniture, classic antiques, watches, porcelains, lamps, glass, carpets and tapestries, African art, jewels, architectural elements … are combined within a diverse atmosphere, where painting offers an indispensable counterpoint to “read” the evolution of visual culture, by including acclaimed contemporary authors, from Spain and every corner of Earth.

The value of each artistic object and piece exhibited in FERIARTE, their authenticity and preservation state, are contrasted by a commission of experts from different disciplines of art, who are in charge of the exhaustive checking process.

All exhibitors in the Fair have pointed out during the presentation of their stand, just like in previous editions, the most significant piece, which will make visitors enjoy a deluxe tour through milestones of fine arts and decorative arts.
