New Volume of C Photo Collection

The fifth monograph of C Photo collection’s second series, named A camara lenta, was displayed on Friday Nov. 30, 7:00 pm, at Ivorypress Space, Madrid. This edition includes photographic essays carried out by twelve artists: Alinka Echeverria, Paul Graham, Rob Honstra, Carlos Irijalba, Jochen Lempert, Zoe Leonard, Santu Mofokeng, Mathieu Pernot, Sophie Ristelhueber, Ahlam Shibli, Bertien van Manen and Raffael Waldner. Curator and director of Jeu de Paume in Paris, Marta Gili is the guest director and is in charge of handpicking the portfolios to make the volume.

“The artists presented by us think of the image and study the state of things from other approaches, by standing in that space that separates event and awareness, an inhospitable place where most of contemporary conflicts are probable sited”, Marta Gili explains in this issue that also includes a text written by André Rouillé, a historian of French photography.

C Photo’s initial stage brought about ten issues of C International Photo Magazine, which represent an entire collection on contemporary photography. The second series, aimed at monographic topics, already counts on four volumes: Genesis, Venecia autentica, Posado/No posado and Nueva mirada latina, which invited Martin Parr to include a selection of emerging artists that represent today’s Latin American photography.
