Alfonso y Luz Castillo Foundation and the Study Group on Museums and Exhibitions (GEME) invite you, on Thursday August 29 at 16.30, to the launch of Exposiciones de arte argentino y latinoamericano. El rol de los museos y los espacios culturales en la interpretación y la difusión del arte (Exhibitions of Argentinean and Latin American art.

The role played by museums and cultural spaces in terms of the interpretation and diffusion of art) book, headed by Maria Jose Herrera and edited by ArtexArte. The publication is the third element of a series that has been produced since 2009 targeting curatorial studies, and GEME is a pioneer in that field.

Exposiciones de arte argentino y latinoamericano gathers researches carried out by the Group of studies  (Maria Jose Herrera, Mariana Marchesi, Cecilia Rabossi, Fabiana Serviddio and Viviana Usubiaga), created a decade ago, along with a selection of intellectuals that participated in the Third Workshops of exhibitions of Argentinean art, held in Rosario city back in 2011.

Exposiciones de arte argentino y latinoamericano. El rol de los museos y los espacios culturales en la interpretación y la difusión del arte demonstrates the mediation between pure research and the representation codes of museology developed by the curator during his work. These articles look at the historic, critic and symbolic strategies linked to the construction of art representation, starting with the study of typologies of produced exhibition.
