Nearly a Thousand Works Compete for 2014 ARTEJOVE-N International Biennale Award

María José Jove Foundation is going to announce on May 15 the winner of the 6th International Biennale Award – 2014 ARTEJOVE-N –, chosen out of 942 artworks from all over the world. The winner will be given 12,000 euros, the work is going to be included in María José Jove Foundation Art Collection and the author will be invited to join the jury for the upcoming edition.

 

 

María José Jove Foundation has stood out due to the remarkable quality of competing artworks, 60 percent of which have been created by Spanish artists, while 40 percent belongs to foreign creators. As for the disciplines, these are the percentages: 60 percent painting, 20 percent photography and 20 percent includes sculptural pieces, installations or mixed techniques. The average age of the artists is 27.

 

 

The 6th International Art Biennale Award – ARTEJOVE-N 2014 – is a biennial international event that targets artists with ages under 35, and it has been conceived in an effort to pay tribute to young talents from around the globe. In addition to the 12,000 euros for the winner, there is a 15,000 euro fund to buy other artworks, totaling 27,000 euros. Along with the cash prize, the jury shall handpick 15 pieces to be included on a catalogue and a show at María José Jove Foundation, to open on May 15.
