1st Art & Recycling National Contest

On Wednesday June 11, ID-Arte Madrid Recicla is going to launch the first edition of ART & RECYCLING national contest, aimed at raising the awareness of young people, a key element to the future of our environment, by means of artistic creation.

The first edition features two outstanding hosts, film director Rodrigo Sorogoyen and AVAF~Assume Vivid Astro Focus artistic collective, who have worked to encourage the participation and, as a last resort, make people more aware through creativeness.

The director of the award-winning Stockholm —which would even represent a nomination to the Goya Award to the best novel direction—, has produced a short movie that tackles the guidelines of the contest, to be screened during the press conference. On the other hand, the prestigious artistic collective headed by Brazilian Eli Sudbrack and French Christophe Hamaide-Pierson, whose works have been shown in such artistic institutions as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, has conceived an installation to be exhibited within the framework of 2014 MULAFEST, a festival slated to take place in IFEMA June 26 - 29.

Both artists will be chairing the jury of the awards in their respective categories, accompanied by Gonzalo Salazar-Simpson —current director of the Movie and Audiovisual School of Madrid (ECAM is the Spanish acronym), and producer of such films as No habrá paz para los malvados and 8 apellidos vascos— and Rufino Ferreras —in charge of Educational Development in Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, of Madrid, director of the educational website www.educathyssen.org and projects like www.c2edumtb.org or www.aquipintamostodos.edu on artistic education and museums.
