Esteban Peña’s “The Invention of Tradition (Such is Life in the Tropics)” at Nueveochenta Gallery

Nueveochenta Galleryis set to open on Thursday June 26 the show entitled “The Invention of Tradition (Such is Life in the Tropics)”. This exhibit is the result of the time spent by Esteban Peña in London. The artist displays six new projects that came out of his experiences in Europe. Esteban Peña Parga is a Colombian artist that currently lives and works in London, United Kingdom. He got his degree as a visual artist at the University of Andes in 2003, and he became famous because of the use of non-conventional materials to create large-scale experimental drawings. Dots and lines are permanent reflections flagships in Peña’s work. Peña shed light on his work back in 2005 when he reached the final stage in the Botero Award event with a work made up of dolls eyes, which brought about a series with pictures of Man Ray. One of his most acclaimed projects is the series of large-scale drop-colored portraits of famous figures. Nueveochenta Gallery Calle 70 No. 9-80 (Bogota)
