Art Madrid'15 sales reached 5 million euros

Some 20,000 visitors, among which are major collectors and art professionals and losses estimated at 5 million euros sales, according to the organization, confirm the consolidation of Art Madrid and fair in our country. 10th anniversary edition has been a resounding success for all participating galleries and an attractive alternative for fans and collectors of art.

 

Art Madrid has closed its tenth edition Crystal Gallery CentroCentro with about 20,000 visitors since opening on Wednesday, February 25 to Sunday March 1, and with great sales, becoming the second largest art fair in Spain after ARCO. In addition, the activities #ProgramaParalelo Art Madrid'15, developed throughout February in collaboration with Fundación fiart, the Fine Arts Gallery and ONE SHOT PLOM HOTELS, has had more than 2,000 participants to its various proposals .

 

It seems that the art market in our country recovers and Art Madrid has been a reflection of this renewed optimism and incipient growth. Demonstrate their sales figures, estimated at about 5 million euros, corresponding to pieces by artists such as Pablo Palazuelo, Diego Canogar, Xavier Mascaro, Chillida, Niki de Saint Phalle, Fernando Botero, Carmen Otero, Asian and Lai Liu Guanguyn Wei-Yu, photographer Felgueroso Leticia Lopez Davis, Mark Tamargo, Le Parc, Rubén Martín de Lucas or the very young Alejandra Sampedro, all very different profiles and ages.

 

Public willing to purchase

The number of visitors and quality are two of the factors that highlight the participating galleries. It has been a very mixed crowd but in turn has been very important step for collectors and buyers, as well as environmental specialists ". Fidel Balaguer, Balaguer Gallery (Barcelona), which also premiered this year suggests that "good organization is working and not noticeable, and has passed this, the artistic proposals have been up and for us has been a fantastic opportunity to publicize the work of Alejandra Atares ".

 

The Seville Patricia Acal, director of the eponymous gallery, highlights good reactions from customers, "rave reviews related to artistic proposals and an excellent selection of galleries". "It met our goals," says gallery owner Blake Osorio, "we believe it is very important in these times of confusion than anything flashy and different worth a once extensive and serious view of art, which fit established artists (contemporary) and the commitment to youth promises ".

 

Miguel de las Heras, of the Hispanic Mexican Contemporary gallery, explains that in his case "is not particularly expensive pieces have been sold but there have been a lot of turnover and high demand for works of average prices.
