Cinema, painting and music are some of the artistic expressions in the program of the 18th Week of Italian Culture in Cuba, which opens today in the Cuban capital city.

The official opening ceremony will take place this afternoon and it will bring Italian violinist Maestro Uto Ughi to the Basilica of San Francisco de Asis Convent, in the historic part of the city, where he will be accompanied by pianist Andrea Bacchetti.

This 18th edition is dedicated to Italian writer and film director Pier Paolo Pasolini, 40 years after his death, and to the University of the Arts, designed by architects Vittorio Garatti and Roberto Gottardi and Cuban Ricardo Porro.

Precisely, in honor of Pasolini there will be various cultural activities such as the screening of several of his films and talks about his legacy.

Also it stands out the opening of the photo exhibit Passolini: a 40 años, más vivo aún next November 25 in Havana’s Dante Alighieri House.
