Craftworks from India at FIART 2015

Havana.- The 19th International Crafts Fair (FIART 2015), being presently exhibited in Pabexpo,  presents an exclusive sample of 10 artisans from India, reflection of that country’s richness and diversity and in search of a greater cultural approach between both peoples.

 

Tsewang Namgyal, appointed ambassador of India in Havana, attended the opening of his country’s stand in FIART 2015, an opportunity he defined as very valuable for the cultural exchange.

 

Gopal Arora, representative of the Indian Council for International Cooperation said in exclusive for the Cuban Agency News that he defends the concept the world is a family and with that precept he tries to stimulate the person-to-person relation through the expression of art and culture.    

 

He assured this sample includes craftworks typical from Indian regions, from Cachemira, in the North to Southern Kerala, and the Cuban public will be able to appreciate pieces representative of the popular art in the form of textiles, jewelry and carving in wood, metal, terracotta and stone.

 

I know Cubans will appreciate this sample, expressed Gopal, because art is maybe the best form of interaction and of unity.    

 

Coming from India are lanterns, chests, bracelets, earrings, scarfs and textiles embroidered with mirrors join to the variety of personal and home use articles available to the Cubans in FIART 2015 until December 20.
