Artista X Artista has the pleasure to announce the first two residencies for Cuban artists as part of recently created annual exchange program with different cultural institutions and international network of art residencies.
The collective jorge&larry and the artist Luis Manuel Otero have been chosen for the first two residencies to be carried on the 1st of March until April 17th in Spain. These are possible by the collaboration between Artista X Artista and El Ranchito, program of residencies Matadero Madrid – AECID invited country "Cuba".
The selection committee gathered in Havana on the 27th of November and was composed by Pascale Martine Tayou (artist, Cameroon- Belgium), Eugenio Viola (curator MADRE Museum, Napoli) and Carlos Garaicoa (artist and founder of Artista X Artista, Havana-Madrid).
Artista X Artista is an initiative of Studio Carlos Garaicoa that will be developed in different ways with the objective of establishing horizontal connections between the young art scene and a growing institutional network and cultural agents worldwide.
