Third edition of World Music music to be celebrated in Havana

Havana.- The third edition of the Havana World Music Festival will be celebrated in this capital city from March 24 to 27 with the participation of artists from different parts of the world.

Among the musical bands to attend the festival is the American group Earth, Wind & Fire, which will present the show EW&F Experience, from Al McKay Allstars.

The musicians will play themes  that made history in the 1970s fusing genres like funk, soul, gospel, jazz, pop,  blues,  folk, African music, and rock and roll.

Up to now and according to the program, there will be Centavrvs, from Mexico, and Spanish singer, percussionist and composer Juanito Makandé.

First level national musicians and groups like Alexander Abreu and Havana D´Primera will also attend the festival.

As it is already usual, the event will include workshops and conferences in an exchange space that will involve those interested in the most recent trends of music.

Havana World Music, sponsored by the Cuban Music Institute, emerges after the project Para Mestizar, about cultural diversity in Cuba and receives a range of artists that have reached their own style from the rescue of their identity.

Previous editions of this festival had been attended by X Alfonso, Spanish duet Fuel Fandango, La Mákina del Karibe, from Colombia, Norwegian singer Thea Hjelmeland and British Dj Auntie Flo.
