Havana.- Medical curiosities and their links with history and art will be the main topics for discussion in an international symposium here, to be attended by researchers from Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa, from February 24th. Sponsored by the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, the Colloquium Histarmed will be divided in 16 topics, including Great warriors, their pathobiographies, art history, diseases and religion as well as Eastern and Western medicine from the 20th and 21st centuries.
Other significant themes are Death in art, Art in Death, Food and Nutrition in history, music and health, languages, culture and communication.
According to the organizers in the digital site Infomed rather than a conference, the event has been inserted as a feast of knowledge, establishing since 2009 bridges between ancient cultures like the Spanish, the German, Egyptian, African and Chinese.
The symposium, to be held at the Convention Center in Cojimar, locality in Eastern Havana, will be extended until February 26.
