Companies from Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Dominican Republic and Cuba will be present during the Latin American and Caribbean Theater Festival “Mayo Teatral” in this year’s edition, as announced its organizers.
The event will be dedicated to the group theater for the 50th anniversary of Teatro La Candelaria, from Colombia; the 45th of Yuyachkani Cultural Group, from Peru, and the 40th of Teatro Gayumba, from the Dominican Republic.
Topics related with that artistic expression will be the main issue of the Encuentro de Teatristas Latinoamericanos y Caribeños, included in the festival, sponsored by Casa de las Americas center and scheduled to take place from May 13 to 22 in Cuba.
The stage creation by Latin American people in the United States, as well as workshops, exhibitions and the presentation of new theater publications complete the program of Mayo Teatral 2016.
Several representations, which will include dances, puppets and various hybrid languages in theater, will be the main topics of this event that it is a proof of the artistic work of the region.
