The 6th edition of the International Underwater Photography Meeting (IMASUB 2016) kicked off on June 6 at the exceptional natural scene of the Guanahacabibes National Park, a protected area on the westernmost tip of Cuba (Pinar del Rio) that was declared World Biosphere Reserve.
With a grand total of 104 competitors from Cuba, the U.S., Spain, Mexico and Chile, the competition is now unfolding at the traditional venue of Maria La Gorda, a diving site of breathtaking beauty.
Participants are doing their very best to capture the underwater wonders that lie off the coasts of Cuba, while the jury waits for their pictures to present prizes and awards in the Environment, Environment with Model, Wildlife and Macro categories.
