Pinta New York celebrates this year itinerant version in Miami

This year, Pinta Nueva York, fair of modern and contemporary art with an emphasis on Latin America and Iberoamerican, will join the artistic phenomenon of convergence that occurs in Miami during the first week of December, when the city becomes a dynamo of world art, with its ninth edition in the American city.

Pinta Miami will be held from 2^nd  to December 7^th  betting  to "break the paradigm of a fair tied to a fixed location." Transfer points to lead Miami, a city of Latin American essence, strategies such as providing matching funds to its museums and institutions will enrich their collections with new works from the central and southern Latin America, and the Iberian Peninsula.

Thus, important city institutions like the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), the Frost Art Museum or Bass Museum will have the opportunity to acquire new works among those exhibited at the fair, thanks to delivery of these funds, thus the impact of performing the fair in Miami that will leave a mark this year in the permanent collections of the city, according to a statement from Pinta.
 

The special edition of Pinta in Miami will feature curator Osbel Suarez in the Modern Art section; Abaseh Miravli in Contemporary Art; José Roca in Pop Art section; Moacir Dos Anjos in the space dedicated this year to Brazil Contemporary; and Sonia Becce in  the Pinta Next section for young talent.

In addition to the six curating sections that make Pinta 2014, this year the organization introduces Pinta editions dedicated to promoting specialized publishing industry in the countries represented at the fair. This new venture is sponsored by Proa (Buenos Aires) Foundation and addresses the need to create a platform to spread the editorial profile of Latin American foundations committed to contemporary visual and media arts, as Americas Society, Blanton Museum, CIFOs , Fomento Cultural Banamex, Cisneros Foundation, Proa Foundation, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Malba, Mali, Commercial Art and Culture, Parallel 10 and The Drawing Center.
