Dominican Art hits in Germany with distinguished group exhibition

Berlin, Germany.- The Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic-Mitur- in coordination with the Dominican Embassy here, organized a group exhibition "Dominican Art Today" at the "Freies Museum Berlin" which inauguration took place on  October 9th this year with a cocktail offered by Rafael Calventi, Dominican diplomat.

 


The exhibition that began on October 1st , was organized by the Director of the Office of Tourism in Germany Mitur, Petra Cruz, through the direction of Cultural Tourism in the person of Altagracia Olmos, who thanked the Minister for Tourism, Francisco Javier Garcia, for his unconditional support to the Dominican art.

 


They also reported that the exhibition was "curated" by Marianne de Tolentino, director of the National Gallery of Fine Arts as well as museology and "co-curated" were made ??by the also experts, Rafael Perez Concepcion and Richard Moreta.

 



They said the authors of the works chosen for the exhibition are the prominent Dominican artists, Altagracia Carrasco, Ines Tolentino, Jose Garcia Cordero (Chichi) Radhames Mejia, Jorge Pineda, Luis Muñoz, Yolanda Naranjo, Marcos Lora Read, Omar Li -Sanchez and Polibio Diaz.

 


It was also mentioned that the opening featured a wide audience, including artists from various European capitals, where the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic in Germany, Rafael Calventi, said a few words with which he praised the quality of the exhibit, besides his pleasure to present such a graphical display of our art.

Also, during the opening cocktail, the "curator" and president of the Club of Friends of the Freies Museum Berlin, Darius Bork, welcomed the exhibition and extended greetings to the artists, members of the diplomatic corps and other attendees.

 

 

The Freies Museum in Berlin, is an institution dedicated to promoting contemporary art in the local and international context, where the most influential ideas and concepts of modern art movements are taken into account.

 


The exhibition

 

 

The whole exhibition is comprised of paintings, drawings, videos and sculptures.



Museology was made taking into account the creative individuality of each artist, arranging the works in independent and intimate spaces.
