Havana. The Third Encounter of Popular Voices will make a stop today in Casa de las Américas and will offer there a special concert starring by Pancho Amat, together with Cabildo del Son.
The event will pay tribute to the Cuban singer and composer Maria Teresa Vera, and will become an exchange between the island and foreign sounds, united in this event to tell the story of peoples from their creators.
Accompanying the tresero Amat is the Cuban-Canadian musician Adonis Puentes, who together with the master has just recorded a CD dedicated to Vera and released to the market soon.
Algeria Fragoso, president of this event with international appeal, will accompany the strains of the Cabildo del Son with a special presentation that shows the purpose of the meeting: to make this October week a platform for the best of the melodies of the continent.
Similarly, and for the first time, the Record Labels Productions Company Colibrí, will star in a sample of recently completed DVD.
For next day it is planned the presentation of a Cuban Gala at the Covarrubias Hall of the National Theater, with the confluence of artists like Elain Morales, Niurka Reyes, Leyanis Lopez and Zule Guerra.
In this third edition of the Encounter of Popular Voices a concert will be given by the World Music Diva Susana Baca, who will perform songs of Afro-Peruvian repertoire.
