Cuba Celebrates 500 Anniversary of Havana in China

Emblematic images of Havana are touring this Sunday three Chinese cities as part of the Authentic Cuba publicity campaign, which this time honors the 500th anniversary of the founding of Havana.

Buses from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou are exhibiting photographs of places such as the bay of Havana with its iconic El Morro lighthouse, the Malecon and old vehicles in Old Havana squares, along with diving and the vegas of the famous Cuban tobacco.

All of them travel this month through busy streets, between areas of tourist interest and business districts of those cities.

The action is part of the celebration on November 16 of the 500th anniversary of Havana, which has the title of Wonder City and UNESCO World Heritage.

The Cuban Authentic Campaign is driven by the Cuban Ministry of Tourism and is the third time it has been launched in this way in China.

However, it is always present during Cuba's participation in numerous Chinese fairs, scenarios where the Cuban potential in the tourist industry, its prestigious medical services and products, as well as the established brands of rum and tobacco, is made known.
