A look at gender identity proposes ARTBO

Works by more than 350 artists, 70 galleries and 20 countries will be exhibited in the Great Hall of the International Center for Business and Exhibitions (Corferias), headquarters of the International Art Fair of Bogotá (ARTBO), which is now in its 14th edition. The event, which will run from October 25th to 28th, will feature some of the most internationally recognized galleries in its different sections.

On this occasion, the Artecámara section will host works by 34 Colombian artists that will address the issue of gender identities. It also highlights the participation for the first time of the Turkish gallery Zilberman Gallery, with headquarters in Istanbul and another in Berlin, and that will bring the Colombian artist Pedro Gómez-Engaña and there will be art museums with wide international recognition such as Mor Charpentier (France), with a contemporary proposal that explores the portrait and the 'selfies'.

The organizers also highlight the presentation of "Dafne", project of the artist Zoitsa Noriega, which deals with feminicide by combining the Greek myth of Daphne and Apollo with the case of Rosa Elvira Cely, who was murdered in the National Park of Bogotá in 2012. Another feature of interest is the presence of the work of photographer Camilo Delgado.

Other topics such as the environment and Colombian national history will find a place in ARTBO, which according to its director María Paz Gaviria has "a unique model that includes both commercial and non-commercial sections".

Within the broad Latin American representation stands out the one of Cuba that will assist
with the galleries La Acacia and Servando veterans in the fairs of contemporary art and that stand out for the quality of the artists they represent.

Arte por Excelencias, once more semi-partners of the event will attend with a complete collection of magazines and willing to provide all the details of what happens at the Colombian plastic arts party, exclusively for its readers.

ARTBO, in the opinion of its organizers "has been a key element in the internationalization of the country's art scene" and comes to this edition with a sample that includes the best of modern and contemporary art for the enjoyment of all national and international visitors.
