Again HB at the Havana Biennial

With a list of artists that practically quintupled his debut at the X Biennial of Havana, will return for the fourth consecutive time in this event HB Exhibition of Contemporary Cuban Art, one of the most important collateral exhibitions of the thirteenth edition of the great event that will be inaugurated next April 12.

Gather in a highly favorable scenario the companies that commercialize art, is the purpose of this project, which will now involve 103 authors; of them 40 representatives of the decades from 70 to 90 of the last century, among which twelve National Prizes of Plastic Arts and relevant creators resident in other provinces of the country.

Organized by the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets; Genesis. Art Galleries and Havana Gallery, the exhibition, which had previously always been presented at PABEXPO, will have three venues this time: the Alejo Carpentier room of the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso and, on the Boulevard de San Rafael, the Collage Habana Gallery and the Ensamble Workshop.

Due to the characteristics of the building, as far as space is concerned, in this location of the Gran Teatro de La Habana the conditions are created for the exhibition of the most contemporary artistic productions such as video art, installations and object art, generally in need of greater surface and height for assembly.

In the Boulevard of San Rafael will be the paintings, drawings and sculptures of authors also recognized within the most diverse styles and poetics.

Included in the project are, among other artists, Pedro Pablo Oliva, Roberto Fabelo, René Francisco, Eduardo Roca Salazar (Choco), José Ángel Toirac, Cosme Proenza, Humberto Hernández Martínez (El Negro), René Aguilera and Javier Castro.

The conception of this mega exhibition has been carried out by a Curatorial Committee integrated by Chrislie Pérez, from Galería Habana; Olga Lidia Triana and Miriam Casanellas, of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets; Darys Vázquez, from Acacia gallery; as well as Hilda María Rodríguez and María Milián, representing the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, UNEAC.
