More than half a century celebrating the birth of new peoples

A new edition of the Fiesta de la Cultura Iberoamericana returns to the streets of Holguín during October 24 to 30 of this year. This international meeting, which was founded in 1993 on the occasion of the 5th centennial of the meeting of the two worlds, will be held once again. It commemorates the arrival of Admiral Cristóbal Colón at the Bay of Bariay on October 28 and encourages reflection on the Iberian-american culture and identity, and the contemporary meaning of the discovery of America.

In its twenty-fourth edition, the director of the Casa Iberoamericana, Doctor in Sciences Eduardo Ávila Rumayor comments: «the Festival of Iberian-American Culture will be dedicated to the 25 years of existence of the Casa de Iberoamérica, as a recognition to all the projection and impact that it has had as a cultural institution on the Holguin and foreign community».

In this regard, it calls for counterpart institutions, writers, artists, researchers and intellectuals from different regions of the country and the world to participate in this great celebration.
