What Do Women Paint?

Castellon: Ten artists from the COMBA 10 Art Group have handpicked ten other world-class creators to both interpret and pay tribute to them.

With that view in mind, the Fundación Caja Castellón-Bancaja is opening at the Bancaja Abadía Hall the exhibition entitled ¿Qué pintan las mujeres? Homenaje a las pioneras del Arte. COMBA 10 Grupo de Arte.

The collective exhibit includes works by Rosana Asensio, Mª Carmen Olivares, Mª Carmen Aldas, Sara Lloret, Maria Griño, Pilar Edo, Eloisa Aldas, Agustina Ortega, Tere Colome and Maria Olmeda.

The idea is to build ties between historic and current artists, as well as to stick to that concept as the exposition’s leit motiv that allows for enhanced tributes to all of them. From an array of creative angles, there’ll now be ties for forever more between Lavinia Fontana (Rosana Asensio); Artemisa Gentileschi and Sofonisba Anguissola (Mª Carmen Olivares); Mary Cassatt (Mª Carmen Aldas); Tamara Lempica (Sara Lloret); Suzanne Valadon (Maria Griño); Remedios Varo (Pilar Edo); Dorothea Lange (Eloisa Aldas); Frida Kahlo (Agustina Ortega); Susan Rothenberg (Tere Colome) and Gina Pane (Maria Olmeda).
