4TH EDITION OF FOTOGRAFICA BOGOTA BIENNIAL

Fotografica Bogota Biennial’s fourth edition will be in session through June 15 –organized by Fotomuseo (National Museum of Photography)–, an opportunity to exhibit works created by outstanding artists from the host country and other 23 territories.

Following the postulate “Testimony and vision”, the selection was based on the fact that photography is more than an informative and descriptive document. That’s the reason why one of the event’s main axis is the theoretical meeting (in session from May 6 to June 13) at “Jorge Enrique Molina” auditorium, Central University, which includes twenty conferences and round tables and counts on the participation of national and international artists and specialists such as: Joan Fontcuberta, Alejandro Castellanos, François Hébel, Wendy Watriss, Pedro Meyer, Gabriel Figueroa Flores, Patricia Mendoza, Marcos Lopez, Martin Parr, Alfredo Jaar, Jose Luis Falconi, Mayra Jonson, Gerardo Montiel Klint (Mexico), Jesus Abad Colorado, Margarita Monsalve, Guillermo A. Santos, Fernando Toledo, Alfredo Molano, Daniel Martinez, Gabriela Morawetz, Christian Caujolle and Françoise Huguier.

The displays can be admired at the modules of FotoMuseo, Transmilenio, billboards, bus stops and Publik screens; as well as “Gilberto Alzate Avendaño” Foundation’s halls, Santa Clara Church Museum, Mundo Gallery, Bogota Archive, National Library and Virgilio Barco Library, some of the Commerce Chamber’s seats, Casa de la Moneda, Bogota Museum of Modern Art, “Gabriel Garcia Marquez” Cultural Center and pavilion 4 in Corferias.

This time, Mexico was the guest of honor, with fifteen exhibitions of its finest photographers and the coordination of Alejandro Castellanos, director of that country’s Image Center.

Furthermore, it’ll count on attendance of 48 artists from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Canada, Cuba, Chile, China, Ecuador, USA, Spain, Estonia, France, Italy, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Poland, United Kingdom, South Africa, Switzerland and Venezuela.
