TRUST: Fourth Pragmatic at Factoría Habana

A collective exhibit entitled Trust, featuring artworks by students from the Higher Institute of Arts, is in display at the halls of Factoria Habana Gallery, in Old Havana’s Historic Center.

This is the Fourth Pragmatic, a course exercise by young creators Anabel A Zenea, Dania Gonzalez, Dayana Trigo, Fidel Castro, Guillermo Cardenas, Jenny Feal, Jorge Pablo Lima, Nelson Barrera, Ruth M. Trueba, Victor Riverno, Yami Socarras, Yoxi Velasquez and Alejandra Oliva, led by and with the participation of Rene Francisco, winner of the 2010 National Prize of Fine Arts. The Fourth Pragmatic is a continuation of this emblematic art project spearheaded by DUPP Gallery.

As an advance to collection creation and a response to a new educational project led by the Office of the Havana Historian called Young Route –an effort to encourage the relation with and the knowledge of the contemporary art- the exhibition was exposed throughout April with a ludicrous and erotic installation entitled Androgino.

The members of the Fourth Pedagogic Pragmatic experience the creative act based on interpersonal relationships, coexistence and teamwork. In Trust this breed of young creators showcases factory-oriented pieces in which the interrelation between the art and mass media is the name of the game.
